Word Mine Puzzles Help
CRpuzzles' version of the magazine game in which solvers form words using the letters from a master word or phrase incorporates computer bookkeeping and real-time scoring into the classic puzzle.
The objective in CRpuzzles Word Mine Puzzles is to form as many 4- and 5-letter words as possible using the letters in the master word or phrase. A letter may be used to form a new word only as many times as it appears in the master. The Official Word List is composed of common words; words not eligible are those beginning with a capital letter, plurals, present-tense verbs ending in "S" ("runs," for example), contractions, and hyphenated words. Only words on the CRpuzzles Official List will be counted by the computer.
The Word Mine Puzzle tool is straightforward to use. The solver enters a found word in the Word: box and either clicks on the Enter tab to the right of the box or presses the Enter or Return key on his or her keyboard. If the word is on the Official Word List, it will appear in the 4- or 5-letter record box as appropriate and will be counted in the official tally under the record box. If the word entered is not on the Official Word List, the message 'word' is not in our word list' will appear; if the word entered is a duplicate of a previous recovery, the message 'word' was repeated will appear.
The Word Mine Java applet offers a solving aid to those who prefer viewing the available letters for word forming in alphabetical order: Clicking on For letters arranged in alphabetical order, click here under the puzzle title will relist the letters in alphabetical order.
