Logic Problem Solution:
Bastille Day Waiters Race
Alain isn't Renault and isn't the waiter at Chez Fernand (clue 3). If
he were Dupres, who isn't at Sans Souci (4), Alain would be the waiter
from Monique's. However, there is then no way that clues 1 and 2 can
work: Marc can't be at Monique's, Lacroix can't be at Monique's, and
Marc and Pierre are two different waiters. So, Alain is Lacroix.
Clues 1 and 2 then must go together with Marc placing 1st, Alain
Lacroix of Monique's 2nd, and Pierre 3rd in the race. By clue 4,
Pierre is a waiter at Sans Souci and is Renault. Marc Dupres won the
event for Chez Fernand. The results of today's Bastille Day Waiter's
Race are
- 1st - Marc Dupres, Chez Fernand
- 2nd - Alain Lacroix, Monique's
- 3rd - Pierre Renault, Sans Souci
